Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
Packmap is a moving-box organizer made by Thomas Q Brady ("we", "us"). This policy explains what Packmap does and doesn't do with your information. The short version: Packmap is built to work entirely on your device, and it does not require an account or collect your personal data. The details follow.
What stays on your device
The boxes, item lists, labels, and any photos you add live in Packmap's storage on your device. We do not have a copy and cannot see them — nothing you add leaves your device to reach us.
Permissions Packmap asks for
- Camera — to scan a box's QR code and to photograph box contents. Images are processed as described below.
- Microphone & Speech Recognition — to let you add items by voice. Transcription runs on your device using Apple's on-device speech recognition.
- Photos — if you choose a photo from your library to analyze, Packmap only receives the specific image you pick.
You can decline or revoke any of these in iOS Settings; the affected feature simply won't be available.
Photo recognition
When you add items from a photo, Packmap suggests what it sees. This analysis happens entirely on your device — using Apple's on-device intelligence on supported iPhones, or Packmap's own built-in recognition otherwise. Your photos are not uploaded, not sent to us, and not sent to any third party. We do not use your photos to train any model.
What we don't do
- No account, login, or email is required to use Packmap.
- Nothing you add — boxes, items, or photos — leaves your device to reach us.
- No advertising, no ad networks, no cross-app tracking, and no advertising identifier.
- No third-party analytics SDKs collecting your behavior.
- We do not sell or rent your information to anyone.
Keeping and deleting your data
Your box and item data stays until you delete it in the app, or delete the app, which removes all of its data from your device.
Children
Packmap is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your rights
Because we do not collect or hold personal information about you, there is generally nothing for us to retrieve, correct, or delete on your behalf. If you have a question about your rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA, contact us and we'll help.
Changes to this policy
If we change how Packmap handles information, we'll update this page and revise the date above. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
